wHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Castle Antiques & Cafe is a brick and mortar shop in the heart of Haliburton, Ontario. This is a locally owned, family business. Each one of us brings something else to the table and make this a truly unique venture!

Together, we have spent the last ten years building a hub for patrons to visit and enjoy and a destination for anyone coming through, as well as an outlet for local artisans.

We have spent a lifetime building connections and curating an eclectic collection of European antiques, while the coffee came later. We have developed a deep passion and love for roasting our own beans, serving up delicious espresso drinks and creating quality home-made vegan and gluten free baked goods daily.

Our coffee beans are grown organically in Nicaragua and imported directly by Castle Café for roasting at our Haliburton Café. The beans are procured from small farmers in the northern regions of San Juan de Rio Coco, where we’ve partnered with Taking Root (https://takingroot.org/) to offer our coffee farmers a sustainable future through their mixed use plantations.

When drinking our coffee you can expect an exceptionally balanced medium-dark roast with solid body, nutty aroma, and a hint of citrus fruit. We pride ourselves in roasting our beans fresh several times a week and offer a sizeable menu of traditional espresso based drinks.

We are also proud to offer our extensive baked goods menu, made fresh in house daily. All of our baked good, soups, salads, breads and preserves are home-made, vegan and gluten free.

We specialize in gluten free cookies, bars, cakes and other sweet treats. We welcome custom orders anytime!

We opened our doors in 2015 as a small antique shop specializing in European antiques, specifically pieces imported from Ireland and later England. Since then we have grown and now occupy an 8000 sqft space. To this day we pride ourselves on the vast assortment of European antiques spanning centuries of history and have become a cottage country destination in the heart of Haliburton, Ontario.
